So I think I have finally caught the knitting bug. I have officially figured it out, or at least the basics, and I have finished my first project. 
Does it shock you to know I made a scarf for the Bean? Didn't think it would.

Now I'm working on something a little more complicated for D. It's still a scarf but I'm attempting the knit purl combination and some more creative color changes. Wish me Luck.
